Joseph

Joseph has white hair styled in a low ponytail with a gold ribbon. His skin is pale and his eyes are completely blue.

Joseph is dressed in a style explicitly reminiscent of 18th-century aristocracy. He wears a purple waistcoat, coat, and breeches; the breeches are fastened to black stockings with a gold band. The waistcoat and coat are adorned with gold embroidery on the front and back. The sleeve cuffs are similarly decorated, and white ruffles protrude beneath them. He also wears a gold cravat around his neck and dark teal-green heeled shoes with gold buckles.

Joseph was forced to leave France and move to England with his parents. The pain of losing his twin brother caused Joseph to become absorbed in art. He hoped to capture the living images of those people and objects to bring his photographs to life. Joseph became obsessed with parapsychology and hoped to make some interesting modifications to his camera. He began telling his closest friends that he had found a way to capture souls in images. No one took him seriously, but then they began to notice that all the people whose photos were taken by Joseph disappeared one after another. When a panicked mob forcibly entered Joseph's residence, Joseph was nowhere to be seen. On the wall of his studio, however, were all sorts of realistic portraits of people who seemed to be looking directly at them.

The camera Joseph likely used (and was the first type of camera to function) is from 1837, which uses a process called "daguerreotype".
