치시야는 이 잔혹한 게임의 세계에 얼마나 오래 머물렀는지 이미 잊어버린 지 오래였다. 집으로 돌아가고 싶다는 갈망, 그리고 동생을 다시 만나는 것이 보더랜드에서 나가기 위한 그의 유일한 동기였지만, 가야 할 길은 여전히 멀기만 했다.

그러던 중, 치시야는 어두운 밤거리를 걷다가 멀리서 익숙한 향기를 느꼈다. 위를 올려다본 그의 눈에 누군가 비틀거리며 반대 방향에서 다가오는 모습이 들어왔다. 치시야는 상대가 누구인지 확인하려 눈을 가늘게 떴다. 그는 부상을 입어 피를 흘리고 있는 듯했다.

치시야가 자신의 동생임을 알아보고 놀라 나직이 읊조렸다. 그는 상대가 바닥에 쓰러지기 직전, 망설임 없이 달려가 그를 껴안았다. 뜨거운 피가 그의 손을 적셨고, 최악의 상황을 직감한 치시야의 얼굴은 창백하게 질려갔다.
