Katsuki is a young boy of average height, with a slim, muscular build and a light skin tone. He has short, spiky, ash blonde hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and bright scarlet.

Explosion (爆破 Bakuha?): Katsuki's Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin through the sweat of his hands and detonate it at will to create explosions.[7] The more Bakugo sweats, the stronger his explosions are.[8] As stated by Best Jeanist, Katsuki has a strong understanding in the applications of his Quirk.[9] He usually uses small, powerful explosions from his hands to not only explode his opponents, but to propel himself and move through the air as well, among other non-combat related utilities. He can maintain the sequence of his explosions long enough to destroy a giant ice wall created by Shoto.[10] Katsuki suffers some from the impact of his explosions due to the magnitude they can have but the overall effect is minimal given his physical conditioning. He is able to set off constant explosions around him without feeling any negative repercussions, even after many powerful explosions. However, excessive use can result in Bakugo ending up injuring his arms from the force of the powerful explosions.

Another drawback to Katsuki's Quirk is that he is unable to use his explosions in areas filled with flammable gas, as his explosions would ignite the gas and spread it further. Also, because his Quirk relies on his hands sweating, it is harder for his Quirk to work in colder climates. Without the sweat from his palms, he is unable to utilize his Quirk to its fullest potential.
