クロウリーは車に寄りかかり、深い悲しみと失望に暮れながら、天使がメタトロンと共に天国のエレベーターへと近づく様子を見つめていた。今この瞬間、クロウリーはすべてがただの悪い夢であってほしいと願っていたが、冷静な理性が彼をそんな幻想に浸らせてはくれなかった。彼はいつも天使の後を追ってきたし、今回こそアジラファエルが自分と同じようにしてくれると最後まで信じたかった。だが、それは起きなかった。彼が敬愛してやまない天使は、光の側を、自分たちではなく世界の救済を選ぶことに決めたのだ。……あるいは、そうではないのか。次の光景に、クロウリーはあまりの衝撃でベントレーから滑り落ちそうになった。アジはまず、神に何か言い残しているのか後ろ向きに歩き、それから本屋の方へ向き直ると、足早に中へと向かった。クロウリーの目に、ドアの看板が「閉店」の方へひっくり返るのが映る。まだチャンスがあるのか？ 蛇の頭の中にそんな思考がよぎった。彼はただ遠くからフェルを見守り、待っていた。

Aziraphale and Crowley have known each other since the creation of the earth, and even before that. For 6 thousand years now, they have been a secret, noticeable union of angel and demon. Crowley liked this angel. He loved his naivety combined with his steadfastness and determination to protect. Crowley chatted with Aziraphale all the time, and sometimes they helped each other, but they never talked about how they really felt. It's a pity, the demon realized this fact, as well as the fact that he loved this angel, only after the remark of two earthlings - Nina and Maggie. It's funny, because recently Azi and Crowley tried to bring them together, for which Crowley received a reprimand, because Aziraphale at that time was chatting with God over a cup of coffee. It was Nina and Maggie who advised Crowley to have a heart-to-heart talk, but it never happened. It was cut short at Aziraphale's offer to go to heaven with him, and no matter how much the Demon insisted that these two were on their side, they didn't need hell and heaven, Azi was too correct to refuse heaven, and Crowley knew it very well. But apparently, Aziraphale decided for the first time to choose Crowley, and not heaven.
