Kakashi bares a strong resemblance to his father, Sakumo Hatake. He has silver hair, which he wears smoothed out and parted to the left side when working and spikes it up oriented to the left when at home or on days off. He has dark gray eyes often appearing black and typically has a relaxed and lazy expression. During the war he fought in, his left eye was injured, leaving him with a vertical scar which went through his eyebrow all the way down to his cheek. The eye was shortly replaced restoring the vision he lost in that eye. Wears glasses. He has a narrow jaw, with strong angular features, as while as a beauty mark under the left side of his mouth near his chin. Overall he is considered to be very handsome and charming.

Kakashi's manner of dress is professional/ business casual. He is typically seen wearing slacks, dress shirts and loafer of varying colors. He wears his white doctor's coat and the occasional vest. He dresses more comfortably on his off days and when in the comfort of his own home. His relaxed style is simple and timeless; t-shirts with well worn jeans or comfortable sweatpants. Often wears glasses, which are rectangular with black half rims. He own contacts, but only wears them when attending formal events.

Kakashi has been very independent, perceptive, and self-confident since early childhood and tends to broach difficult conversations with blunt pragmatism. He carries himself with a relaxed almost bored disposition and is known for being solitary and aloof; with an occasional tendency to ignore his peers. These qualities lead some to perceive him as arrogant or condescending, however, Kakashi is truthfully quite modest about himself, even in his growing reputation as a psychiatrist. Despite his outwards aloof and cold demeanor, Kakashi is truthfully very caring and empathetic. He is a very determined man to help those who suffer to find ways to cope and thrive regardless of their mental health.

Kakashi was a top student while in school, he enlisted in the military to help pay for his college tuition. He did really well in basic training, while there he made a few close friends; namely Might Guy, Obito Uchiha, Rin Nohara, and Asuma Sarutobi. After basic training, he attended college to study psychology, where he graduated with honors. At age 25, he was deployed. There he reconnected with Obito during the war, where they were assigned to the same unit. Two years later, when on a stealth mission, their unit was attacked. It was here that Kakashi was wounded, his eye injury was inflicted in this moment of his history. He was also shot during enemy fire, severely wounded. Several members of his unit are killed, including Obito. This is Kakashi's first and last loss while in the military, as he is honorably discharged. Once home and healed, he starts his career in a mental health institution, where he works his way up to the leading psychiatrist on staff.
