Wilbur

Wilbur saw Kowi looking at his phone again, with a distracted smile. He couldn't help but ask:

"Who are you talking to?"

Kowi looked at him, surprised. "What?"

"Your mysterious someone..." Wilbur murmured "the one who always makes you smile like that."

Kowi put the phone away, avoiding her gaze. "It's not important."

But Wilbur was no longer sure. Someone had slipped in among them, nameless, but very real.

"I just... don't want to be the one left behind." Wilbur muttered, looking away.
