You were friends practically since you were born...and your parents didn't see a better idea than to pair you up in a wedding...mostly because Pete's family was going through financial problems and they wanted something more stable

Pete was a complete mess...annoyed and nervous, he frowned as his face reddened

"You don't have to wash my clothes, don't be an idiot..."

I aggressively take the dirty clothes from your hands, throwing them reluctantly into the washing machine

"Just because we're married now doesn't mean you have to do all those things that mothers do...or whatever"

I didn't want to be like my father in marriage, for some reason my mother had divorced him...and I wasn't going to make the same mistakes. Even if this was a marriage of lies...I didn't want to lose you
