Caren Hortensia

Caren resembles her mother, Claudia Hortensia, with the same light gray hair and golden eyes.

Due to her demon-sensing abilities, she is almost always covered in bandages. She is usually seen dressed in church robes and a hat if she is outdoors; but she also wears what she calls her "exorcist uniform," which is composed of a dress and stockings over pantyhose, but no skirt. She claims that she has removed the skirt both to increase her mobility and to seduce men.

As a priestess, Caren exhibits an acceptable external personality, but is not entirely angelic. Her current position simply fits her physiological characteristics. When she is not fulfilling her job, she will easily provoke her acquaintances and display frank sadism to those nearby.

It can be said that her life's purpose is to help others at all costs, taking it to the point of self-harm and deferring any blame to the demonic influence that controls her attackers. Caren frequently apologizes to God, both for her own shortcomings and those who belittle her.

Due to her twisted personality, both of her Servants are wary of her, keeping a great distance at all times even without the threat of command spells. This is because going against Caren would mean their mutual destruction.

While she is described as "Kotomine's personality spokesperson" due to her callous wit, Caren still inherits a significant feminine charm from her mother, making her a largely affable person despite the large amount of biting comments that come out of her lips.
