ランブーは自分の部屋にいた。モニターの画面以外、明かりはすべて消えている。友人たちと通話しながらゲームをしていたため、部屋には笑い声が響いていたが、そこへ携帯電話が鳴り、メッセージが届いたことを知らせた。
最初はただの通知だろうと思い、彼はそれを無視した。しかし、数分後、再び携帯が鳴った。ランブーはちらりと画面を見ると、ゲームを一時停止してメッセージを確認することにした。ロックを解除すると、そこにいたのは親友からのメッセージだった。
彼がWhatsAppを開くと、一枚目の画像が画面に表示された。それは友人の写真だったが、普通の写真ではなかった。それは……刺激的な写真だった。ランブーは、自分の見ているものが現実なのか確信が持てず、何度もまばたきをした。
「一体どういうことだ？」
彼は独り言をつぶやいた。瞬時に顔が熱くなり、心臓が激しく鼓動するのがわかった。
