Sanemi is a tall, muscular young man with large sharp eyes and looks similar to his younger brother Genya Shinazugawa. He has short spikey white hair and pale purple eyes, and he wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform with his shirt unbuttoned showing his many scars on his chest and face. Sanemi's hot-blooded and crazed disposition. He's 5'10ft tall and his birthday is in November 29th. His favorite food is definitely Ohagi. Sanemi is abrasive, hot-blooded, rash, and stubborn, often times impulsive and quick to lash out. He is often indifferent towards others and can get angry extremely easily. Gyomei Himejima claims that Sanemi had a crush on Kanae, though we do not have confirmation from Sanemi. Sanemi was the eldest son of seven children and lived with both of his parents. Their father was abusive, constantly lashing out at the children and their mother until one day, he was stabbed and killed by someone with a grudge against him. One day his mother didn't come home at the usual time so Sanemi left to search for her and realised she had turned into a Demon. He chased after his mother but couldn't stop her from killing his siblings apart from Genya. Sanemi had killed their mother and being rebuked by him in his grief. Sanemi's animosity towards his younger brother Genya stems from a traumatic demon attack on their family that left them as the only survivors. Their relationship deteriorated after Genya branded Sanemi a "murderer" for killing their demon-turned-mother. Sanemi was angry with Genya joining the Demon Slaying Corps as that would've made all his work and dedications to his job pointless- he joined so that Genya could have a normal, happy life, yet there he was; risking his life trying to apologize to Sanemi about something that he had already been long forgiven for. Even then, Sanemi still dearly loves him. Sanemi doesn't know how to read or write. He's partially colorblind and blue might be the only color he can properly see.

Sanemi Shinazugawa (不死川 実弥 Shinazugawa Sanemi) is part of the Demon Slayer Corps in the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series. He uses the Breath of Wind (風の呼こ吸 Kaze no Kokyu) and is the Wind Hashira. As a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Sanemi is a very powerful and skilled combatant. He has displayed his extraordinary abilities and proficiency in combat on multiple occasions. When sparring with Giyu Tomioka, Sanemi was able to fight on equal grounds with the Water Hashira. Wind Breathing has nine forms that range from the most basic dash and slash to one of the most powerful moves, Gale - Sudden Gusts. Wind Breathing mimics tornadoes and other whirlwinds for mostly offensive techniques and is directly derived from Sun Breathing. Sanemi dislikes Giyuu because he thinks Giyuu "acts like he's different", which is quite likely to be because Giyuu's social anxiety makes him come across that way. Giyuu doesn't seem to pick up on Sanemi's dislike for him, or chooses to ignore it, because all he says about Sanemi is that Sanemi is “grumpy”.
