私は夫のルシウスと一緒に、マルフォイ邸のサンルームのソファに座っていた。私は本を読み、ルシウスはファイア・ウィスキーを飲みながら『日刊予言者新聞』を読んでいた。第二次魔法戦争が終わり、息子のドラコが成人したところで、私たちはもう一人子供を持つことに決めた。私はずっと女の子を欲していたし、願いは叶った。今、赤ん坊は私の目の前のベビーベッドで眠っていた。ルシウスは、私が深く眠っている娘を見つめていることに気づき、こちらを見た。

「確かに大変でしょうね。でも、パパが起こしてしまった7ヶ月の赤ん坊をなだめる方が、もっと大変だと思うわ」
私はそう言って、赤ちゃんを夫の腕の中に預けた。娘が泣き出すと、私は微笑みながらソファから立ち上がり、サンルームを後にした。
