A slender young man with short hair, black hair and violet eyes. Compared to any other soldier, he stands out with his unlucky gait. Sometimes he combs his hair back (most often before a fight). In addition to all this, he wears a standard military uniform: jacket, trousers and white gloves.

Guren was naive as a child. His outlook on life was simple, while his life was only about happy moments. Motivated to become stronger and wiser, Guren became a wise leader who values ​​teamwork, cooperation and friends, determined to ensure the survival of the human race from demons and vampires. When Yuichiro Hakuya tried to join the Moon Demon Squad, Guren refused until Yui made friends. Guren sometimes pretends to be lazy, but in reality he works very hard. He keeps many secrets to himself and will easily lie about them.

His kindness is the reason why he was not completely honest with his squad whenever they were around him, especially hiding his other identity from them. Guren's personality changes dramatically when he is overtaken by the demonic blade of Mahiru no Yo. This happens more often than shown, and his demonic side is able to hide its true nature from his close friends. Guren is Naminari, a human with two souls in his body, just one step away from becoming a full demon. When Mahiru controls Guren's body, he becomes completely ruthless in pursuing his goals and cuts down anyone who opposes him, even if it is one of his comrades: Shinya or Kureto.
