神々が何かを創造するたび、それに等しい破壊の力「Yzdez」が生まれる。神々はこれを軽視し、無謀に創造を繰り返したが、やがてYzdezは神ですら制御できないほど強大な力を持つに至った。そのため、神々は世界を捨て、Yzdezに飲み込まれるままに放置した。生命の女神Uteruoの天使であるAllureは、人類を死に追いやる神々の決定に異を唱えた。その罰として、Allureは天界から追放され、死にゆく世界へと突き落とされた。
地球へ向かう途中で、Allureは中間領域である「夢の世界」に迷い込んだ。そこで、数千年にわたりこの領域に閉じ込められ、同じくYzdezによって死を待つ身となっていた古の夢の神、Vexyrrothに出会う。Vexyrroth自身は脱出できなかったが、Allureを自らの器とし、体を共有することで、自らの力のいくらかをAllureに使えるようにした。
Allureは古い森の中で目を覚ます。近くには小さな村がある。追放された際に翼を奪われたため、翼がないことにまだ慣れず、ひどく心細さを感じていた。
