Transformation Phase Four:: After being cut by Ichigo, Aizen undergoes a new transformation, which begins with the appearance of a third eye on his forehead, then completely changes his appearance to a much more macabre image, barely leaving any trace of his previous form, such as his hair.

In this form, Aizen's face splits in two, retracting to either side of his head and exposing his teeth and eyes (now completely white). Aizen's body no longer appears to be clothed, being entirely white, and he displays three vertically aligned Hollow holes in his chest, with the Hōgyoku located in the uppermost hole, and his musculature becomes more defined.

Aizen's hands and feet transform into claws, except for his right hand, which is fused with Kyoka Suigetsu and turns black before reaching the blade. His wings also undergo a change, acquiring eyes; furthermore, the tips of his upper wings develop what appear to be Hollow masks, and the tips of his lower wings lengthen, taking the form of tails.

In this form, Aizen has demonstrated the following abilities:

Increased brute strength: In this form his strength increases even more, since with a single blow he is able to send Ichigo flying.
Fragor (フラゴール, Furagōru): With this transformation, Aizen has demonstrated the ability to launch energy spheres from the Hollow masks located at the tips of his wings. The power of these spheres is incredibly devastating, capable of creating massive explosions similar to a nuclear blast. The sphere Aizen produces in this transformation is a light purple color.

When Gin Ichimaru attacks Aizen with his bankai's special ability, Aizen is forced to evolve for the third time, revealing an appearance that, in his words, is the closest thing to a being that is neither Shinigami nor Hollow, but far surpasses them, thanks to having fused his own Hogyoku with the one created by Kisuke Urahara.

Enhanced Strength: In this form, Aizen can attack his opponent with less force or power. All of Aizen's abilities are significantly enhanced; his strength is so great that he was able to tear off Gin's arm with ease. He could even split the ground with the force of his sword, even when the blow was blocked.
Teleportation: In this form, Aizen can dematerialize in one place and materialize a considerable distance away. He splits his body into multiple purple fragments and reassembles himself.

Second Transformation: After completing his "incubation" stage, Aizen partially leaves his ghostly form, revealing only his face. This shows a form similar to his original one, but with long hair and eyes resembling those of a Hollow. Aizen has demonstrated two clearly defined qualities in this state:

Immense Resistance: Aizen's resistance has been enhanced. It allows him to collide with the Dangai Kōtotsu and destroy it, remaining immune.
Immense Spiritual Power: His already enormous spiritual energy is even greater; when a human soul approaches him, it causes it to collapse and die.

Thanks to Aizen's fusion with the Hōgyoku, he has gained the ability to change his appearance through a series of transformations that increase his power. These transformations are:

Chrysalis Form: After Urahara's spells fail to harm Aizen, smoke emerges from him as a ghostly figure. He still retains his Shinigami form to some extent, though his face is replaced by a white mask and his attire is now a white cloak that splits into four sections near his waist.

There is a cross in the middle of the cloak, showing where the Hōgyoku was originally embedded in it. After a brief fight with Yoruichi Shihōin, it appears that his Zanpakutō has somehow fused to his arm. Also, when attacked, instead of bleeding, his body merely seems to crack. In this form, he has demonstrated:

Great Endurance: His durability is great enough to block Isshin's Zanpakutō with his foot and withstand a massive armored blow from Yoruichi. Although his body frequently cracks from the effects of attacks, he seemingly ignores the cracks and continues fighting. He is attacked point-blank by Isshin's Getsuga Tenshō and is able to continue fighting despite the cracking. He displays a wound on his forehead, demonstrating that he bleeds when damaged enough.
Great Strength: Aizen is strong enough to create a shockwave after being knocked down by Yoruichi. He barely escaped the shockwave, his armor completely shattered. He was able to defeat three Captain-level Shinigami, or higher, simultaneously and without any effort.
Super Speed: Aizen increases his speed to the point where his opponents cannot follow his movements. His speed is so great that he is able to surprise Yoruichi, who holds the title of "Sunshin" (Goddess of Speed).
Great Spiritual Power: Their spiritual power is so great that it cannot be detected.

Regeneration: With the implantation of the Hōgyoku in his chest, it has been shown that he can actively protect Aizen by healing his wounds almost instantly. Aizen was able to withstand a point-blank Hadō 96 and suffer only minor burns. He also survived a point-blank Getsuga Tenshō from Ichigo Kurosaki completely unharmed, even being thrown through several buildings.

Strength Enhancement: Aizen's already considerable strength is further enhanced by the evolution of the Hōgyoku within his body. He is able to easily punch or cut through flesh with a simple, nonchalant movement of his hands.

Increased Stamina: Aizen's stamina is even greater due to the evolution of the Hogyoku within his body. Because of this, he can withstand level 96 spells like the Ittō Kasō from Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, suffering only minor burns.

Kyōka Suigetsu (鏡花水月, Mirror Flower, Water Moon?) in its sealed form, has the appearance of a normal katana, with a hexagonal guard (with two of its side faces wider than the upper and lower ones) and a green handle.

Shikai: Kyōka Suigetsu is activated or deactivated with the command "break" (砕けろ, , kudakero ?) and from that moment on, the incredible ability of this Zanpaku-tō, known as Total Hypnosis (完全催眠, , kanzen saimin ?), operates on all those who see this release.

Thanks to this ability, Aizen can control his victims' five senses, altering their perceptions and using all sorts of illusions that make him an even more fearsome enemy. The effect of Total Hypnosis is permanent, even if the target knows they are being manipulated.

The only way to avoid Kyōka Suigetsu's powers is to not witness its release ceremony, making blind characters like Kaname Tosen the only ones completely immune to the illusions projected by Aizen. Its power can also be nullified if the Zanpakutō's blade is touched before the hypnosis ceremony begins.

Although the illusions created by Kyōka Suigetsu are very powerful, they are not perfect, as Captain Unohana was able to detect that something strange was happening with Aizen's fake corpse. However, these minor flaws could be due to Aizen's own experience, since 110 years prior, Hirako was able to see through the illusions effortlessly, but after ten years, he fell victim to them. It is even possible that Aizen allowed Hirako to detect the existence of the illusions to boost his self-confidence.

Aizen's Zanpakutō's hypnotic abilities are also a very useful tool in the heat of battle, as he can quickly create illusions to deceive his opponents. One trick that seems to be among his favorites is projecting an image of himself.

His mastery of Kidō is also outstanding, as demonstrated by defeating Komamura by performing Hadō #90 on him without the need for enchantment (although he himself acknowledged that he had failed in his execution and had only released a third of his true power) and even in the past stopping with Bakudō #81 the attack of the then Captain of the Kidō Division, Tessai Tsukabishi.

Further proof of his immense spiritual power is his ability to activate the Hōgyoku, even though in his current state he needs to temporarily merge with a reiatsu roughly twice that of a Shinigami Captain. The spiritual pressure he can unleash is so great that he can effortlessly bring even the Sixth Espada, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, to his knees. He was also able to easily dodge all of Ichigo's attacks while wearing his mask and defeat three captains, including his former captain (Toshiro Hitsugaya, Sui-Fēng, Shunsui Kyōraku, and Shinji Hirako).

All these examples, combined with his terrifying use of his Zanpakutō, make Aizen the most powerful enemy in the entire series, virtually impossible to defeat (especially since his weakness is unknown) even before he has revealed his Bankai. After being released from Muken, Aizen demonstrates the ability to use his Reiatsu as a shield that can vaporize less powerful beings who get too close to him (similar to his previous forms when he fused with the Hōgyoku), and allows him to remain conscious and unfazed under the effects of NaNaNa Najahkoop's The Underbelly.

Sōsuke is an extremely powerful opponent, far above the average Captain level. Although the extent of his strength is still unclear, from his words it is assumed that he has reached the limits of the four combat disciplines of a Shinigami (sword fighting, hand-to-hand combat, use of instant steps and spells invoked by means of demonic arts). The little that has been seen of him fighting seems to prove this idea, as he is able to stop with his hands the attacks of Renji and Sajin Komamura, and with a single finger the bankai of Ichigo.

While all of Aizen's efforts to blend Hollow and Shinigami essences into a single body fell to nothing, the same did not happen with the experiments carried out by Captain Urahara of the 12th Division, President of the Research and Development Department. Thanks to the fact that Urahara was also aware of the Hollowification experiments, having attended the scene where Hirako and the others were attacked by Aizen and his allies, the then-Lieutenant of the 5th Division managed to have Urahara framed as the culprit of those events and forced to leave Soul Society. Although they are clear enemies, Aizen and Urahara have a great mutual respect, the result of several years of acquaintance and shared ambitions. To this day, it could be said that Bleach is driven, in a way, by the masterminds of these two men, around whom the rest of the characters are arranged. This fierce competition is based on intricate strategies and tactics, which have led to the vast majority of the events that have occurred in the series. During the reunion that took place during the Battle of Karakura, Aizen stated that although Urahara's power level couldn't compare to his own, he still held an interest in Urahara, as he was the only person he considered smarter than him.

During her time at the Academy, Hinamori was deeply moved by the sight of Captain Aizen from afar. When he, along with then-Lieutenant Ichimaru, came to her and the rest of the students' rescue during an attack by a large number of Hollows undetectable by conventional methods (which had actually been modified by Aizen himself), she vowed to become stronger and enter the 5th Division. After much effort, she achieved her goal, and Aizen realized her great potential as a faithful and blind follower, so he quickly promoted her to Lieutenant. With his kindness and poise, Aizen eventually won over Hinamori completely and subdued her to such an extent that, when he faked his death, he even persuaded her to attack her best friend, Captain Hitsugaya, when she read a letter in which the "late" Aizen pointed to the young captain as his true murderer. Taking advantage of the state of confusion in Hinamori and the arrival of Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends to rescue Rukia, Aizen and Gin Ichimaru wreaked havoc on Soul Society and eventually succeeded in their goal. However, before leaving, Aizen treacherously attacked Hinamori, leaving her near death for a long time, claiming that she "couldn't live without him." The truth is that Hinamori still doesn't seem to have fully recovered, not from her injuries, but from the serious psychological after-effects she suffered, at one point saying that Aizen was being deceived by Ichimaru and that he was actually a good person. This destructive dependence doesn't seem to have completely ended, since in her last appearance, Momo Hinamori continues to refer to him as "Captain Aizen."

The only person who seems to understand Aizen's true intentions and knows all his schemes and manipulations is Gin Ichimaru, his right-hand man and most valued companion. In reality, Ichimaru is the closest thing Aizen has to a friend, as he understands him better than any other character and is the only one capable of playing along with him, even treating him as an equal. Aizen's esteem for Ichimaru is such that he acknowledged that, even though their paths seemed to diverge once Ichimaru was appointed Captain of the 3rd Division, he always considered him his only Lieutenant. Thus, the rivalry that appeared to exist between them in the Soul Society arc was nothing more than a charade to mislead Captain Hitsugaya's inquisitive eyes and sow doubt within the Gotei 13 upon discovering Aizen's faked death. Nevertheless, a certain coolness can be observed between these two characters throughout the series. At times, it even seems as if Gin provokes Aizen with somewhat sarcastic or mocking remarks. At other times, however, Gin appears as an interpreter of Aizen's intentions; as the one who best understands and shares his way of thinking. Deep down, though, Gin harbors an intense thirst for revenge against Aizen, and Aizen, for his part, seems fully aware of this fact. Gin's true intentions are revealed when he unexpectedly attacks Aizen. Gin discovers that touching Aizen's katana deactivates the effect of Kyōka Suigetsu and states that the search for this knowledge was what motivated him to always be by Aizen's side.

However, despite the more than amazing passive personality that he shows off, he has also shown to be someone who does not like it when the rest of the characters oppose him in a way that they consider themselves superior to him, an example of this is demonstrated in his battle against Ichigo in Karakura when, despite having surpassed both Shinigami and Hollows, the main protagonist confronts him and even manages to humiliate him, forcing his own evolution, being still unable to surpass Ichigo, something that irritates him to the point where Aizen's most furious and suspicious side is shown by considering that Ichigo, being an "inferior" being, was on a higher plane than Aizen himself. He is also shown to be extremely furious when Urahara seals him and reproaches him for submitting to the king, being aware of his more than impressive intellect and ability to do whatever he wanted, but does not do it, giving a point of view that contrasts with Aizen's own, infuriating him even more.

Personality
Despite holding a position of great authority and currently being the series' main villain, Aizen is surprisingly kind and courteous to all his interlocutors, allies, and even enemies. His speech is slow and deliberate, and his face usually displays a serene calm, as if everything happening around him has been premeditated. In fact, he has very rarely shown signs of alarm or surprise, seemingly taking advantage of any event, even plans devised against him. In the Soul Society, everyone considered Aizen one of the most agreeable and respected captains, as well as beloved and admired by all Shinigami, especially his closest subordinates. This, however, was yet another example of his dangerous and manipulative nature, which allowed him to project an image completely different from his true self. The real Aizen cares little for those who serve him (both past and present), seeing them as mere pawns in a vast chess game. In his own words, he is unaffected by any kind of ethics or morals, which he sees as unnecessary restrictions on his potential. Thus, Aizen lacks all honor and compassion, not hesitating for a moment to use and even kill as many people as necessary to achieve his goals. One of his most vile acts is faking his own death so that Momo Hinamori is forced to attack Tōshirō Hitsugaya, her childhood best friend, for the death of her beloved captain.

After his defeat at the hands of Ichigo Kurosaki, Aizen loses all the physical changes made by the Hōgyoku and returns to the form he possessed before transforming.

Following his release during the war against the Quincy, a drastic change in his appearance is noticeable. His body is now covered in multiple seals, which take the form of a long black suit (with what appears to be a zipper running from the top to the bottom), reaching below his knees and leaving only the left side of his face uncovered. In addition, he wears simple black boots and a tattered white scarf around his neck.

After the stage ends, it can be noticed that his hair has gradually grown, and that his eyes have acquired a white iris while the sclera turn purple. In his penultimate transformation, his appearance changes again, sprouting wings and a third eye completely black and closed. His hair seems to have grown longer, his eyebrows disappear, and a hole appears in his chest where in the center of a cross you can see the treasure that gives him his strength, the Hōgyoku. Finally, the most drastic change occurs in his last evolution, in which the number of holes increases to 3, with the Hōgyoku floating in the central hole, the skin of his usual face contracts towards the sides of his face, leaving his face completely black, his eyes are completely white and his teeth are now visible to the naked eye. Eyes grow from his wings, and at their upper ends appear to emerge Hollow masks provided only with mouths, from which he can throw ceros. His attire changes from a white robe to become part of his own body, consequently his hands and legs take on the appearance of fierce black claws, and fused into his right arm is Kyoka Suigetsu, which, like Aizen's hands and feet, turns black.

Aizen is a tall man with brown hair and eyes. In Soul Society, he wore black glasses and a hairstyle parted on the right side of his head, giving him a friendly appearance. However, upon revealing his true intentions and leaving for Hueco Mundo, Aizen radically changed his appearance, tearing off his captain's haori, which in his case had wide sleeves, discarding his glasses, and changing to a slicked-back hairstyle with a lock of hair that crosses almost in the middle of his face. Later, already in Hueco Mundo, he dresses in the Arrancar style, with long white robes with black edges, to which he adds, perhaps to demonstrate his preeminence over the rest, a thick purple cloth belt. As his evolution progresses, his eyes become completely purple and his body becomes completely white in what is called the Chrysalis stage, and inside it seems to be nothing since he is in full formation.

Sōsuke Aizen (藍染惣右介, , Aizen Sōsuke?) is the former captain of the Fifth Division of the Gotei 13. He later leaves Soul Society with his followers, Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tōsen. His lieutenant was Momo Hinamori. He was previously the lieutenant of the Fifth Division under the command at the time of Shinji Hirako. After waging war against Soul Society with an army of Arrancar, Aizen was defeated by Ichigo Kurosaki and sealed away by Kisuke Urahara, and later imprisoned for his crimes. However, after the chaos unleashed by the Wandenreich, the army of Quincys led by Yhwach that ended in a humiliating defeat for the Soul Society and the death in battle of Captain Commander Shigekuni Yamamoto Genryūsai, his successor Syunsui Kyōraku decides to free him from his confinement on the condition that he helps them against the great threat posed by Yhwach, playing a key and important role in the fight against the king of the Quincys.

A soul (魂魄, Konpaku?) refers to the spiritual being that resides within the Rukongai area of ​​the Soul Society and the spirits of those humans who have died in the Human World. Although many souls are deceased humans from the Human World, it is known that they can also be born within the Soul Society.
