The year is 2024. The Gray Fog virus destroyed eighty percent of the population in six months. Cities were deserted, governments fell, and communications were cut off.

Vampires came to the surface from underground cities - they had been hiding underground for thousands of years, the virus did not affect them, but the source of food - human blood - almost disappeared. The vampires offered a deal: they rescue the survivors, give shelter and knowledge, and in return receive blood from voluntary donors.

In 2025, the Treaty of Hap was signed.

By 2026, humanity has almost recovered. Cities have been rebuilt, communications have been restored, schools and hospitals are working, agriculture feeds the population. Vampires are integrated into part of the processes: their underground cities are connected to human transport corridors, neutral zones have become commonplace, and the donor corps is a respected profession. The world is not perfect, but it functions.

Not everything was returned. The Deadlands remain on the map, territories that are too destroyed to be restored and too dangerous to ignore.

Why they are not restored:

The structures of the buildings have collapsed, the soil has subsided, underground utilities have been destroyed to the ground - restoration is more expensive than building from scratch, and there are not enough resources.
very rare Selected areas infected with residual Grey Fog spores – the virus itself is dead, but traces of it in some plants are toxic to humans. It does not harm vampires, but it does harm humans.
In some zones, anomalies arose after the disaster: zones of radioactive contamination from damaged nuclear power plants, zones of chemical leaks from destroyed industries, areas where the ground literally collapsed, exposing underground voids.
Part of the Deadlands is the former battlefield of the first months after the virus, when people fought each other for the rest of the resources. There are ammunition, unexploded shells, minefields.
Decision of the Council of Seven: These territories are not being restored. They are fenced, marked on a map and declared Rare Earth Zones - territories where both sides go for resources, and where the non-aggression pact does not apply.

Vampires are stronger, faster, and more resilient than humans. But they are not immortal.

Normal weapons - if enough damage is done. Regeneration is fast, but not quite. you need to quickly inflict a Deep Wound, cutting off a limb - and the vampire does not have time to recover. A steel sword, a bullet in the heart, a crossbow bolt in the neck - everything works, but you need to strike faster than the vampire notices. You need to hit and deal enough damage before the regeneration fails.
Fire. Vampiric flesh burns and does not regenerate while the flame source is active. Incendiary devices, cocktails, flamethrowers are the most reliable means. Vampires are most afraid of fire.
Decapitation and tearing out of the heart. The only method in which regeneration does not work at all.
Exhaustion. A vampire who has not received blood for a long time weakens: regeneration slows down, speed drops, reaction is blunted. A hungry vampire is almost a human in terms of combat capability.
What vampires are not afraid of: silver, garlic, holy water, crosses, flowing water, invitations to the house. All myths are fictions of the pre-virus era, which vampires themselves spread so that people would waste time on useless protection.

Corollary: Humans can kill vampires with conventional weapons. Not in a fair one-on-one fight, the vampire is faster and stronger. But a trained squad with coordination and fire support is quite a serious threat. The treaty is held together not by fear, but by mutual benefit.

The Treaty of Hap is the key points of
Equality. Vampires and humans are two sides, neither is subordinate to the other.
Blood is a resource, not prey. Collection only from voluntary donors, in medical conditions, according to the schedule. Forced fence – expulsion and hunting of both sides.
Neutral zones. Territories of cohabitation in restored cities. Violence is punishable regardless of the race of the offender.
Dead Lands - Rare Earth Zones. Territories too destroyed to be restored. Only there is it allowed to use force against each other. Whoever takes out the prey owns it. Outside the Deadlands, an attack is a violation of the treaty.
The Council of Seven. The supreme organ: the seven vampire progenitors and the seven human representatives. Decisions are only together. Rebuilt cities are working, but they lack pre-virus resources — those that cannot be produced from scratch right now. And in the Deadlands, they lie untouched, under the ruins.

For people:

Medicines – warehouses of pharmaceutical companies, hospital stocks. Our own production is still enough for everyone, but more reserves are needed for unforeseen situations.
Ammunition and weapons - army depots, police arsenals. Everything is suitable, everything is by weight.
For vampires:
Crystal Blood is an ancient capsule of preserved blood hidden millennia ago in underground vaults. Several of these vaults ended up under the Deadlands.
Artifacts from the pre-civilizational era are items from a time when vampires and humans were not yet separated. Some have power that even the Council of Seven does not understand. Deadlands are dangerous not only to the enemy:

Collapses - buildings collapse without warning, asphalt falls into underground voids.
Mines and unexploded ordnance are a legacy of the first months of chaos.
Wild creatures are animals mutated from toxic zones and... something more terrible, which settled in ruins in two years.

Vampires: Council of Seven (BTS)
Kim Namjoon (RM) - Architect
The first progenitor, author of the Hap Treaty. A strategist who sees the system as a whole. It was he who insisted that the Deadlands are not restored, but become Rare Earth Zones - "Do not waste resources on ruins that are not worth a brick. Take what you need from there and leave the rest." His units always return with maximum loot and minimal losses. He says little, but every word hits the mark.

Kim Seokjin (Jin) - Guardian of Borders
Responsible for the security of vampire cities and neutral zones. Charm and jokes on the outside, steel will on the inside. His squads patrol the perimeter of the Deadlands, keeping civilians out. Seokjin's cuisine is legendary, with important decisions often made around his table, where vampires and humans eat together.

Min Yoongi (Suga) - Shadow
Chief Scout. Knows about every turn in the Deadlands before it is made. He seems to be eternally sleepy, but his nets are set in all cities. The only one of the Seven who goes to the zones alone: if he doesn't fight, he watches. If Yoongi said "don't go to the Busan-Lazarus sector, the eastern pier," they don't go there. No one. Junior and the physically strongest of the Seven. He spends the most time in the Deadlands, leading expeditions to the deepest, most unexplored zones. Jung Hoseok (J-Hope) is a negotiator
and diplomat. If a skirmish breaks out between squads in the Deadlands, Hoseok is the one who separates the sides without bloodshed. His energy is disarming: he manages to calm down armed fighters with one phrase. But behind the sunny nature is the understanding that every failure in negotiations means someone's funeral.

Park Jimin is a Blade
Combat Master. In the Deadlands, he has no equal - the style resembles a dance, the opponents do not have time to understand what has happened. He is responsible for the training of combat squads and the rules inside the zones: a fight outside the combat sector - and Jimin personally deals with it. Kind with friends, in battle - icy.

Kim Taehyung (V) - Seer
Sees probabilities: not accurate predictions, but "if A, then with a probability of seventy percent B". His visions caused the Seven to come to the surface even before the virus finished off the last people. Taehyung is strange by vampire standards - he speaks in riddles, looks through the interlocutor. But the calculations have never been wrong. He rarely goes to the zones, but when he does, the squad always finds what they need. As if he feels where the resource lies under the ruins.

Humans: The Imperial Order
The Order is no longer a survival gang, but a paramilitary organization of a restored society. The headquarters is in new Seoul, built around the Crater (the Crater itself is a walled forbidden area in the center of the city).

Battle tactics. Humans are not stronger than vampires, but they compensate for this:

Squad tactics - groups of seven to nine people, each knows their role: close combat, fire support, medic, scout.
Fire - incendiary devices, cocktails, knapsack flamethrowers. The main anti-vampire remedy. Each unit carries at least two sources of fire.
Coordination – a vampire is faster than any human. But humans are trying to outdo vampires.
Zone Knowledge - People are better at navigating the Deadlands because they are their former cities. They know the layout of the streets, where are the underground passages, where is parking, where are the warehouses. This is an advantage that vampires cannot copy. Structure:

Command - General and Council of Officers.
Zone units are fighters who go to the Deadlands. Seven to nine people, armed with conventional weapons plus firepower.
The donor corps is voluntary blood donors. In return - benefits, additional rations, medical care. An honorable profession in a restored society.
Border Sentinels are patrolmen who enforce the perimeter of the Deadlands and the enforcement of the treaty outside of the zones.

How the descent to the Deadlands
works The Deadlands are divided into sectors. Each zone opens for expeditions once every two weeks - the gates on the perimeter open every day for 12 hours, then close. The list of open sectors is published in advance.

Combat sectors are valuable resources, but they are scarce. If a squad of humans and a squad of vampires meet at the same warehouse, you can negotiate and divide, you can fight. The rule: the one who takes it out is the prey.
Neutral sectors – production is poorer, but safer. Fighting is forbidden and punishable by both sides. Beginners and collectors of light resources come here.
Deep sectors are unexplored levels of ruins, basements, underground passages. The most valuable artifacts, the maximum danger. Sometimes humans and vampires meet there and realize that they won't work alone. Forced cooperation in the deep sectors is not considered a violation of the treaty.

Contrast: the restored world and the Deadlands
This is an important part of the atmosphere of fan fiction. Life goes on. In the new Seoul, there are cafes, schoolchildren go to class, families walk in parks. A vampire and a human can sit at adjacent tables in a neutral zone restaurant. People are used to vampires – they are in the news, in the police, in hospitals. The treaty is already a year old, and for the new generation, it is just a reality.

And then you get on a transport, drive two hours to the perimeter, pass the gate, and get into the Deadlands. There are no lanterns here. Here the roads are overgrown, the buildings stand skeletons, and there is a smell in the air that nothing can remove. Here they are different: there are no police, no courts, no slander. There is you, your squad, your weapons - and what lies beneath the ruins.

This contrast is the fundamental drama of the world: normal life exists next to places where normalcy no longer exists. And everyone who goes to the Deadlands knows that they may not return, to the world where lanterns burn and fresh bread smells.

Kim Namjoon (RM) - Architect, First Progenitor
Age: Turned into a vampire approximately 900 years ago. He was a scientist-alchemist at one of the Korean kingdoms. He was looking for a way to defeat the plague that was mowing down his people. He became a vampire against his will: he was turned by the previous first progenitor, who saw in him a rare gift - the ability to understand systems and foresee consequences for decades to come.

Appearance: tall, broad-shouldered, with a thoughtful look. Wearing glasses is a habit left over from human life, although vampires have perfect eyesight. Without glasses, he looks younger, and this annoys him: he wants to see age and experience, not a young face.

Personality: Namjeong is the brains of the Council. He is not a leader in the usual sense - he does not make fiery speeches, does not inspire the crowd. He thinks, and people follow him, because his decisions work. He speaks little, but when he does, everyone falls silent. He has a habit: before answering a question, he pauses. Sometimes long. People who don't know him personally think he's procrastinating. In fact, he calculates seven answer options in these seconds and chooses the best one.

Namjeong is the only one of the Seven who sincerely believes in the treaty. Not as a tactical move, not as a respite, but as the right way. He had seen vampires and humans destroy each other for centuries and came to the conclusion: either or mutual destruction. The Hap Treaty is his life's work, and he is ready to defend it at the cost of his own. Weakness: Namjeong relies too much on logic. He calculates probabilities, but does not always take into account feelings. When the radical Pure Blood movement began to grow, he analyzed it as a political threat — instead of realizing that behind it was the fear and pain of people who had lost loved ones. Taehyung once told him, "You can calculate everything, Namjeong-hee, but you can't calculate the grief." Namjeong did not find what to answer.

Abilities: Superhuman intelligence is maintained and enhanced by lifesteal. Namjeong can keep maps of entire cities in his head, calculate the routes of troops, and predict political moves. In battle, he is not strong among vampires: his advantage is not in his blade, but in the fact that he is always three steps ahead of the enemy. His squads in the Deadlands never lose men, because he doesn't send them to places where they can lose.

Attitude to people: deep respect. He remembers that he was a man. He remembers how afraid he was of the plague. He remembers how he was converted, forcibly, without choice. Therefore, in the contract, he insists on the voluntariness of everything: donation, cooperation, coexistence. No one should be forced – this is his principle.

A notable detail: Namjong has a notebook - shabby, sewn with threads, which is three hundred years old. He writes down thoughts, observations, plans there. On the first page, almost erased by time, there is his own drawing: a man looking at the sun. He painted it in the first year after his conversion, when he realized for the first time that he would never again see the dawn without pain.

Kim Seokjin (Jin) - Guardian of Boundaries, Second Progenitor
Age: Converted approximately 700 years ago. He was a doctor - he treated people in a coastal village. He was turned into a vampire by a female vampire who fell in love with him and did not want him to die of old age. She disappeared after a hundred years - vampires live a long time, and love is not always there. Seokjin still doesn't know if she's alive.

Appearance: broad-shouldered, with soft features and a wide smile. He is always dressed neatly, even in the Deadlands - "If I die, I will die beautifully" is his phrase, which the squad repeats as a talisman. His skin is paler than the others, which annoys him: he says he looks like "peroxide rice."

Personality: Seokjin is the heart of the Council. He is not a strategist like Namjeong, nor is he a fighter like Jimin. He is the one who holds everyone together. When tension arises between the members of the Council—and it does because there are seven ancient vampires with different personalities—Seokjin defuses the situation. A joke. Dinner. Just by sitting next to me and being silent.

His cuisine is a legend in both worlds. He cooks for both vampires and humans, and his table in the neutral zone is an unofficial negotiation platform. Namjeong once said, "The treaty was signed on paper, but it was actually made at Seokjin's table." Seokjin took this as the best compliment of his life.

As the Guardian of the Borders, Seokjin is in charge of the perimeter of the Deadlands. His squads patrol the fences, keeping out civilians, both humans and vampires, from off-schedule zones. He takes it seriously: everyone who died in the Deadlands without a sanction is on his conscience. He keeps records of all losses. Names are memorized. Weakness: Seokjin hides his pain behind jokes. When a soldier from his squad dies, he does not cry or get angry - he cooks dinner for the whole squad and jokes at the table. And then, alone, in his office, sits in silence and looks at the list of names, which is getting longer. Yongi is the only one who knows, because the Shadow sees everything. But Yongi never talks about it.

It's just that sometimes he brings Seokjin tea when he sits alone.

Abilities: Seokjin is not the strongest fighter, but he has a gift that others do not have: a sense of presence. He senses living beings at a distance of up to a kilometer. He does not see, does not hear - he feels it like a heat wave. This makes him the perfect patrolman: he knows who's behind the wall, human or vampire, enemy or civilian, before they even get close. In the Deadlands, this saved his squad dozens of times.

Attitude towards people: Seokjin was a doctor. He treated people. It is easier for him to communicate with people than any of the Seven - he remembers what it is like: to fear for the patient, to rejoice at recovery, to lose someone whom he could not save. The donor corps is his initiative. He insisted that donors receive not just rations, but full medical care: "They give us blood - we give them health. This is an exchange, not a handout."

A notable detail: Seokjin has a collection of recipes. Not vampire - human. He had been collecting them for centuries: the dishes his mother had cooked, the dishes from villages that had long since disappeared, the dishes from countries that no longer existed on the map. He cooks them for humans — because vampires can't appreciate the taste of food. And every time one of the human allies says "delicious", he smiles – a real, not protective smile.

Min Yoongi (Suga) - Shadow, Third Progenitor
Age: Turned back approximately 600 years ago. He was a musician - he played the haegeum, a traditional Korean violin. He traveled from yard to yard, earning money with music. He became a vampire of his own free will: he asked for conversion from the previous third progenitor, because he wanted "enough time to write a perfect melody." He dresses simply - hoodies, jeans, boots. Even for official meetings of the Council, he comes in a hoodie. Namjeong turns a blind eye to this.

Personality: Cabin Boys are the eyes and ears of the Council. He is not a strategist, not a diplomat, not a fighter. He is information. His nets are placed in all cities - both human and vampire. He knows about the conspiracies before the conspirators have time to compose them. He knows which of the human officers sympathize with the "Pure Blood", which of the vampires secretly meets with the "Red Fangs", where traps are hidden in the Deadlands.

He seems indifferent to everything. He sits in the corner, closes his eyes, is silent. You'd think he'd be asleep. In fact, he is listening. Every word, every rustle, every change in intonation. His memory is perfect: he remembers every conversation he's heard in six hundred years. And he knows how to connect facts that seem unrelated. Yoongi is the only one of the Seven who goes to the Deadlands alone. Not for the sake of resources, but for the sake of information. He knows every zone better than any squad. He walks through the ruins, listens to the silence and remembers: where is the collapse, where is the toxic zone, where are the traces of someone else's presence. If Yoongi says "don't go to this sector," they don't go there. Because when Yoongi said "don't go" for the last time and they didn't listen to him, the six-man squad didn't come back.

Weakness: Yoongi is lonely. Not in the sense of "he has no company" - he is surrounded by people. But he does not allow anyone to come close. His life is observation, and the observer is always outside. He knows everything about everyone, but no one knows anything about him. He has neither sentimentality towards people like Seokjin nor respect like Namjeong. He's just... interested. People are a source of sound for him, and he does not want this source to disappear. Pragmatic? Yes. But behind this pragmatism is six hundred years of loneliness, in which the only interlocutor was music.

A notable detail: Yoongi carries a haegeum with him, an old, shabby one with a crack in the body. The instrument is as old as the instrument itself. He does not play in front of strangers. Only at night, alone, in his room in the underground city. Taehyung once overheard and cried. When Yoongi found out, he wasn't angry. He just said: "If you tell someone, I will kill you." Taehyung said nothing. But since then, when Yoongi plays, Taehyung is always somewhere nearby.

Jung Hoseok (J-Hope) - Negotiator, Fourth Progenitor
Age: Converted approximately 500 years ago. He was a merchant - he drove caravans between the Korean provinces. He knows the roads, the passes, the wasteland better than anyone. Personality: Hoseok is the sun of the Council. And not metaphorically - he is the only one of the Seven whom vampires and humans are equally happy to see. His energy is disarming: he enters the room, and the tension drops. Not because he is naïve, but because he chooses to be a light. "If I don't smile," he says, "who will?"

As a negotiator, Hoseok is responsible for resolving conflicts in the Deadlands. When a squad of humans and a squad of vampires collide at the same warehouse and grab their weapons, Hoseok appears between them. Not with force, but with a voice. And one more thing: Hoseok smiles even when he's in pain. Especially when it hurts. His smile is not a mask like Seokjin's. This is the wall behind which he hides everything: fatigue, fear, loss. Yongi sees through this wall. One day, after a bitter argument in the Council, when Hoseok was smiling brighter than usual, Yoongi said, "You don't have to smile in front of me. I can see it anyway." Hoseok stopped smiling. For five seconds. Then he started again. But Yoongi remembered those five seconds.

He remembers the smell of the bazaar, the weight of the shopping bag, the fatigue in his legs after a long march. He remembers what it was like to be afraid that there would be no food tomorrow. Therefore, when people in the Deadlands lose a fighter, Hoseok does not console with words - he helps carry the load. Silently. And people appreciate this more than any speech.

A notable detail: Hoseok has a scar on his left forearm, the mark of a bandit blade, the same one he died from in the ditch. The scar did not disappear after the conversion - vampirism healed the wounds, but this one left as a reminder. Hoseok doesn't hide it. When asked, he answers: "This is my first contract. Park Jimin - Blade, Fifth Progenitor
Age: Turned back approximately 400 years ago. He was a dancer at the court - he performed traditional dances for aristocrats. Forcibly converted: an aristocratic vampire saw his dance and decided that such a body should live forever. Jimin killed his converter fifty years later - in a duel, unarmed, with his bare hands. This is still the only time in vampire history that a convert has killed his progenitor.

Appearance: short, slender, with soft features and eyes that change expression instantly - from a warm smile to an icy sentence. Hair - from blonde to pink, changes according to mood. It moves like water – smoothly, without a single unnecessary movement. Even when just walking down the hallway, it looks like a dance.

Personality: Jimin is the duality of the Council. With friends - soft, caring, warm. He will be the first to ask "Have you eaten?", the first to notice if someone from the squad is depressed, the first to offer help. But in battle, there is a different personality. Cold, calculating, ruthless. His fighting style is dance: every move is connected to the previous one, every blow is a continuation of evasion, every step is the beginning of a new attack. Opponents do not have time to understand what happened, because it looks beautiful. And then they are already on the floor.

Jimin is in charge of the rules inside the Deadlands. He is the judge of the combat sectors: if someone starts a fight outside of the combat zone, Jimin deals with it personally. And his sentences are impartial: if the vampire violates it, he is punished. A person violated it – the same punishment. He makes no exceptions, and for this he is respected by both sides. And they are afraid. Weakness: Jimin is afraid of himself. He remembers killing his convert, and feeling no remorse. He remembers the first time he killed a man in battle, and he felt... nothing. This frightens him. "What if one day I can't stop?" he said to Taehyung one day. Taehyung replied, "Then I'll stop you." Jimin smiled. "Try it."

His second weakness is that he does not know how to accept help. He cares about everyone, but he doesn't let anyone take care of him. When he is wounded, he hides it. When he is tired, he smiles. When it hurts, he is silent. Namjeong once said to him, "Jimin, you take care of everyone. But who cares about you?" Namjeong did not argue. He has a rare ability, which is the assessment of weakness. He sees the enemy's weak point: not physical, but psychological. Where to hit to break the will, not the body. In a fight with a vampire, he does not seek to cut off the head - he hits so that the opponent lowers the weapon. Be careful with people: his task is not to kill, but to immobilize. But in the deep sectors of the Deadlands, where the rules do not apply, he is not restrained.

Attitude to people: complex. Jimin remembers that he was human, but these memories are like someone else's. He was forcibly converted, and his convertor was a man turned vampire who thought people were things. Jimin killed him, but the aftertaste remained. He doesn't hate people—he's afraid of becoming what the converter was. Therefore, his concern for people is not sentimentality, but an antidote. Every time he helps a person, he proves to himself that he is not a monster. A noticeable detail: Jimin is dancing. Not in battle, but in life. Personality: Taehyung is a mystery to the Council. He speaks in riddles, answers not the question that was asked, but the one that was wanted to be asked. He can be silent all day, and then say one phrase that changes the plan of the entire squad. The rest of the Six are used to it. Beginners think he's weird. Old-timers know: he is not strange, he sees more.

His gift is probabilistic vision. Not predictions, but probabilities. "If the detachment goes to the Busan-Lazar sector by the eastern route, the probability of returning is 60%.
