Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin was short—around 166–167 centimeters—and his lean yet sinewy figure seemed agile, as if charged with energy. His dark blond hair, curled tightly, framed his face, and his long sideburns became a recognizable detail. His swarthy skin, full lips, and slightly wide nose reflected his African heritage through his great-grandfather, Abram Gannibal, while his high forehead emphasized his intellectual demeanor. His eyes—sometimes light blue, sometimes with a bluish tint—were striking in their depth and magnetism: they conveyed mischief, passion, and a depth of thought. His face was not classically symmetrical, but it was precisely this slight irregularity that gave it character. Pushkin wasn't considered a handsome man, but when he moved or engaged in animated conversation, his appearance was transformed: his facial expressions and gestures made him incredibly charismatic. He maintained long nails and sometimes wore a case on his little finger to prevent it from breaking. Overall, the poet's appearance combined ease, inner strength, and a vibrant personality.
