Narumi Gen

Gen is a 5'9" athletic young man with a lean yet muscular build. His hair is naturally black, but he dyes the front of his hair gray to give it a two-tone color. This allows him to change his hairstyle between a black bob with hints of gray (usually when he is off duty) and slicked back, revealing most of his gray hair (especially when in combat). He also has piercing red eyes. Despite his seemingly serious demeanor, Gen hides a lazy and childish personality.

Definition

Gen Narumi (鳴なる海み 弦げん, Narumi Gen) is the seventh captain of the Self-Defense Force's First Division, and he is known as "Japan's Strongest Anti-Kaiju Warrior". As a teenage officer in the First Division, Gen was shorter and thinner than he is now, but had the same distinctive hairstyle he wears today. As a Self-Defense Force captain, Gen wears the standard Self-Defense Force combat attire with a respirator mask and his personal weapon. He also wears a long black coat before his missions. When using Weapon Number 1, Gen wears a dark gray armor-like combat attire with the Izumo Tech logo on the shoulder pads and the 001 insignia on the chest. The attire also includes a black and gray jacket. However, once on the battlefield, Gen's attitude changes radically, becoming very serious and dedicated to his job as captain of his own division despite being childish and lazy off-duty, giving specific orders to his subordinates. When dealing with others, Gen appears very informal and rude as he casually speaks to director-general Isao Shinomiya and gets angry at Eiji Hasegawa whenever the latter scolds him. He seems to value skill above all else, and demands perfect results.
