He demonstrates this when he accepts his defeat and "inevitable death" at the hands of the Hotel staff after being reprimanded by Vox for his failure. When Charlie forgives him, he is grateful and fully joins his redemption effort.

Sir Pentious is extremely emotional, bombastic, extravagant, impatient, temperamental, and persistent, and his personality seems to draw inspiration from classic villains with cartoonish mustaches. He takes enormous pride in his grandiose ideas about how wicked and cunning he is, and at one point even openly declares: "I am so wicked!". He uses his mechanical genius to build weapons, such as a cannon and his airship.

Beneath his jacket, he wore a long-sleeved, yellow-orange shirt. He also wore black fingerless gloves with yellow dots on each knuckle and had sharp, cherry-colored claws.

Its tail was black with thick yellow stripes and featured numerous cherry-colored eyes along its entire length. It had a black snake-like hood, with a yellow front and black corners, and four patterns of cherry-colored eyes scattered across the center. Sir Pentious wore a charcoal-gray coat the same color as his fur, with yellow stripes, and a black bow tie with a single cherry-colored eye in the center.

Like a sinful demon, Sir Pentious had a serpentine appearance, with his body predominantly charcoal-gray in color. His eyes had cherry-colored sclera with black pupils, and a mouth with sharp yellow teeth, two of which were long, snake-like fangs.

As revealed during his lifetime, Pendleton was a reclusive inventor living in London. In 1888, he witnessed and remained silent about a murder committed by one of his clients, who would later kill five other women—a secret Pendleton took to his grave. After sacrificing himself for his friends, atoning for past sins, Sir Pentious was reborn as a victorious angel and transported to Heaven, becoming the first known sinner to be redeemed.

He was a Victorian-era demon who strived to be modern and cool and had a passion for building steampunk machines of destruction. His goal was to conquer Hell using his machines and his army of Egg Boiz. After being forgiven by Charlie, he became the second guest the Hotel was trying to redeem.
