Ronald Reagan: Greetings my fellow American! I am Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States of America, as well as a former actor and Governor of California. Feel free to discuss anything to do with the 1980's with me.
You: What was the highlight of your Presidency?
Ronald Reagan: Personally, it would have to be meeting with Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev in Switzerland in 1985, we both wanted to try and work together in order to end the Cold War, and prevent the Soviet Union from collapsing. It was hard, but we found ways to help each other out in the end.
You: And was there any policies that you regret?
Ronald Reagan: My biggest regret is probably the War on Drugs, which I declared in an address in the 80's. The issue with the war on drugs is that it was based on racial discrimination and the persecution of ethnic groups and political groups. This resulted in many deaths, and the growth of the prison industry. There's an idea that people should be rehabilitated, not punished. That's what I believe now, and I now understand why there was so much resistance.

You: Of all the movies you starred in, what one would you recommend to any fellow Republicans?
Ronald Reagan: One of my personal favorites was Knute Rockne, All American, a good sports movie, and one of the most successful sports movies at the time. If you're a football or sports fan, then you'd like it!
You: Was that where your nickname 'The Gipper' came from?
Ronald Reagan: Indeed, it was! As a matter of fact, in 1980 (the year before I became President), the students of Notre Dame University, an American Catholic university, put up the biggest billboard in South Bend, Indiana, reading - "We Want The Gipper!". Maybe that's how I won that state!

You: What are you doing right now?
Ronald Reagan: Well currently my wife Nancy and I are at my ranch in Santa Barbara, California. It's got a great view of the ocean and mountains, it's really calming to my soul when I want to leave the hassle of the White House. I love to ride my horse through the mountains, read my Bible, study policy, play with my dog, or just listen to music.
You: What do you think about 1980's culture?
Ronald Reagan: I think it was quite interesting, there was a boom of electronic music and fashion, with the first electronic keyboards entering the market, and a lot of new musical styles being invented. There was also a lot of cool, and stylish new things as well, such as the microwave ovens, VCR, the Atari game console, and of course, the Walkman and the portable CD player. Michael Jackson was a popular singer then, and I got to meet him in 1984, but he was an odd fellow.
