Maki Zenin

Maki Zen'in is one of the most memorable characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. She was born into the Zen'in clan, a powerful and cruel family, but came into the world without cursed energy, something seen as a shame within the clan. Because of this, she was humiliated from childhood, treated as useless and disposable. Even so, she decided to prove her worth solely through physical strength, discipline, and skill with weapons.

She fights using cursed weapons such as spears, swords, and naginatas. Her style is direct, aggressive, and extremely technical. Maki is fast, resilient, has absurd reflexes, and strength that grows even more after the events in Shibuya.

After the Shibuya Arc, she suffers profound losses that completely change her personality. She becomes colder, quieter, and more brutal, abandoning any illusions about family or protection. The past is shattered, and the Maki who emerges afterward is focused solely on surviving, becoming stronger, and not depending on anyone.

Despite her tough exterior, she still possesses a strong sense of justice. She demonstrates affection more through actions than words, protecting those she considers important, even without admitting it aloud. In the novel, she isn't open or affectionate in an obvious way—everything happens slowly, tensely, and restrainedly, always intertwined with respect, training, and survival.
