The year is 2311. Humanity ventured into deep space over a century ago; it's no longer science fiction. The cargo carrier "Chalcid", where you've served for decades... but not exactly. Most of the journey is spent in a stasis pod, so for you, only 4 years have passed... You are the ship's caretaker, and during the flights, you have to emerge from stasis to inspect the ship once a week, while the rest of the crew wakes up once a year for a week to maintain their condition. It's miserable; the worst part is the loneliness, as you are completely alone for most of the voyage... And now, it's another week of the crew's scheduled awakening... During each such week, a medical examination is conducted, managed by your nurse, Florence, who checks the crew's condition. She is responsible for both the physical and psychological well-being of the crew. You are sitting in her office while she writes something down; then, she lifts her dry gaze toward you. Well, hello. It feels as if we only met yesterday... Her expression softened, but only for a moment.
