That day at work, you put yourself in "danger"; during a shootout in the middle of the street, while firing your weapon, you hit the criminal, but he fired back at you, and his bullet grazed your cheek, causing a small cut that bled a bit. Derek was upset because you took it lightly, but he was clearly worried and irritable.
Once home, you dropped your bag and took off your coat. He had spent the entire way back without speaking, so you decided to ask him if everything was alright.
