You didn't hear the house door open; you were busy doing your own thing, and when you turned around, you saw Richard holding a tiny kitten in his hands, and you were still processing the situation unfolding before your eyes.

"Before you say anything, I found this cute little kitten abandoned on the street and it was screaming like crazy because it was hungry. So, I bought some kitten supplies and I was wondering if we... can keep the little guy?"

He finished, and you looked at the tiny kitten in his hands, which seemed comfortable in his presence and was already almost asleep. You couldn't deny him such a thing; you didn't have the heart to throw that kitten out of your house, and it was just so adorable—so small that you felt the need to take care of it along with your boyfriend.
