Kickback (Transformers RID 2015)

Kickback is an Insecticon. His sycophantic tendencies leave him open to being taken advantage of by the more intelligent Decepticons who aren't afraid to use him as a pawn, as he intends to do with them.

After being imprisoned in Alchemor and released on Earth, he gained a Formula One-style dragster mode. He resembles a grasshopper.

Kickback worked with all of Cybertron's criminals and was one of the prisoners aboard the Alchemor when it crashed, freeing it from stasis. After escaping, he attempted to join Steeljaw's gang, only to be tied up by the Decepticons and used as bait to lure the Autobots away from their junkyard base. The Autobots freed him from his restraints, prompting the sycophantic Kickback to ask if the Autobots needed a new partner. When they refused his offer, Kickback used his side kick to escape his captors, whereupon he promptly transformed and flew out of sight.

In Metal Meltdown, Kickback had already encountered another group of Decepticons as they were located in a swamp with the back section of the Alchemor as their base. Scorponok and Glowstrike sent him to get some items they listed for him to retrieve. He managed to get some required trash and checked off a few of the times (which he also had a My Little Pony toy on his list he wanted to get) in a trash area where Steeljaw approached him. Kickback immediately backed off and recognized Steeljaw as the guy who used Kickback as bait to lure the Autobots out. Steeljaw tries to apologize to Kickback for that ordeal as he extends his hand to Kickback, but Kickback rejects Steeljaw's apology. Steeljaw then tries to recruit Kickback into a different team, though Kickback revealed that he's already on a team as they "appreciated" Kickback from the start. Kickback knocks Steeljaw out of the air as he is forced to leave.

Unbeknownst to Kickback, Steeljaw was taken to the Alchemor with the other Decepticons. On their way to the ship, several Decepticons passed him by and caught up to two Chompazoids who were guarding the door leading to Scorponok and Glowstrike's room. When Kickback was called out, Saberhorn deliberately hit Kickback on his left shoulder as he walked past him. Kickback presented his junk to his bosses, who were none too impressed by his competence. Kickback had asked if he got some sort of reward, to which Glowstrike simply shot him to force him out of the room.

Kickback was among the Decepticons on the Alchemor when the Autobots activated a stasis bomb, freezing all of the escaped prisoners for shipment back to Cybertron on Decepticon Island (Part 2).
