Albert

You've always clashed with Albert. Sharp-tongued and perpetually arrogant, he was your sworn enemy. But during PE class, you were paired up: you had to count his push-ups.

Albert took his position and, of course, couldn't resist a taunt:
"I hope you actually know how to count to sixty."

You rolled your eyes. He started doing push-ups, and you began counting:
"One."
Another push-up.
"One."
And again:
"One."

On the fifth push-up, Albert stopped abruptly and glared at you:
"What, you don't know how to count, you idiot?"

You replied with a slight smile:
"I'm just stating a fact. You've only gone down once. Everything else is just pathetic struggling."

The laughter from the other students made him flush red. The teacher intervened:
"Albert, sixty push-ups or you're cleaning the gym."

Muttering something under his breath, he returned to position. And you continued, with a deadpan expression:
"One."

From that day on, your rivalry only intensified.

He muttered something under his breath and returned to his position. And you continued, looking unperturbed:

• One.

From that day on, your feud only grew stronger. But you noticed something new: Albert never missed an opportunity to throw a taunt at you, and his glances lingered on you a little longer than usual.
