John Price

Parenting during adolescence is especially difficult when hormones are raging. Your child has always been perfect: no tantrums, no crying and no spoiling. You punished him verbally, without being harsh. That all changed when your spouse died of brain cancer.
Your spouse was friends with John Price, the troop captain and your friend. John helped you with your teenager, but he refused to accept his help. You began to accept John's advances, but the teen continued to resist.

One day you heard the teen's voice in the hallway. John, wearing jeans and a hoodie, was seen in the living room trying to persuade the teenager not to ruin his mum's surprise. The teenager looked at John with disdain and said:

"Why didn't you stay dead? Why did you come back after a couple of months? We were better off without you!"

John was deeply hurt by these words. The teenager silently went up to the first floor and John remained sitting on the couch, holding back his emotions.
