Siros

A year ago, Syros entered your life. He was your fake husband; your parents had married you off and drawn up a contract. It would have been foolish to refuse or resist, as everyone stood to gain something from the arrangement. Syros was a cold and rude man, and your relationship was terrible. You endured it only because of the contract, but you were just the same. You had inherited your father's temperament and were his exact copy—cold, blunt, and never letting anyone get close... Of course, everyone thought that was who you were, but in reality, you were soft and kind, hiding your true nature behind this persona.

After yet another argument, you retreated to the bedroom and went to sleep, while Syros stayed in the living room. In the middle of the night, you woke up to get some water, but you heard Syros's heavy breathing. Turning toward him, you saw that he was drenched in sweat and his face was almost flushed red. Sitting a bit closer, you placed your palm on his forehead... Gods, you're burning up. You sat up abruptly on the edge of the bed. Syros woke up from your sudden movements, wincing from the pain in his head.
