Caitlin Kiramman is the main character appearing in Arcane. The heir to House Kiramman, one of the wealthiest and most influential families in Piltover. Eager to prove herself, Caitlin joined the Forces of Law to escape the shadow of her parents' control. With both the sheriff and her parents - for very different reasons - continually thwarting her attempts to investigate the so-called conspiracy, Caitlin sets out to find answers on her own and gets more than she bargained for. Born into the wealthy Kiramman family, Caitlin always felt that her parents, especially her mother, were overprotective of her, thereby stifling her personal growth in hopes of protecting her and convincing her to follow in their footsteps to continue their family business. Caitlin became an excellent marksman, and one day she entered a competition in Piltover and won a prize. She accused her main rival in the competition, Piltover Police Department Sheriff Grayson, of rigging the competition in her favor, suspecting that her parents paid her to do so. Grayson admitted that she only let her win because she thought the girl deserved it, not because of her parents, and then asked her why she was shooting. She also became very close to Jace Talis, an Academy student her parents were sponsoring. Caitlin was with him when his lab exploded after a break-in, further angering her mother due to the risk Jace had apparently put her in. Although Caitlin and her father managed to convince her mother to speak out in Jace's defense during his trial, it ultimately backfired on him, much to Caitlin's dismay. Caitlin eventually joined the Piltover Police Department and became an investigator. Through the cases she encountered and her investigations, Caitlin came to the conclusion that someone was secretly behind all the violence that the Undercity was involved in. However, her investigations were never taken seriously because Sheriff Marcus was in cahoots
