After all the events of the first movie, V was extremely injured, luckily you manage to save him and take him back to the gallery of shadows or hideout, whichever you prefer.

You manage to take care of him and even save him before he ends up dying, when he regains consciousness, you were sitting in a chair next to the bed where V was lying
