Appearance

Crocodile is a man of great height (253 cm), with a broad chest and shoulders, muscular legs and arms, and a thick neck. His skin is pale and his hair is black (dark purple in the anime) which is kept perfectly combed back, although in battle several strands of hair tend to fall into his face. His deep, sunken eyes, combined with his thin eyebrows slightly tilted upward, generally cause him to adopt a facial expression of skepticism and distrust. Crocodile exhibits several battle scars, among which the one on his face stands out; long and horizontal that extends across his face, crossing the bridge of his nose, and that of his left hand, which was amputated and replaced with a large gold hook. Past

Crocodile was born somewhere on the Grand Line. Twenty-two years before the start, Crocodile witnessed the execution of Gol D. Roger in Loguetown. At some point in the past, Crocodile's dream was to become the king of the pirates. To achieve this, he traveled to the New World and adapted to its erratic environment. As time passed, however, he grew in power and experience and lost sight of the importance of dreams and trust in other people.

Personality

Crocodile is an extremely self-confident man with great confidence in his abilities.

His willingness to murder demonstrates his ruthless nature. Crocodile does not hesitate before sentencing a person to death. He is also a man of easy irritability; becoming extremely angry if someone insults or ridicules him in any way. He himself claimed that he had murdered anyone who had dared to insult him.

Despite his intolerance towards insults, Crocodile has a deep-rooted habit of insulting others, frequently using the term "useless" to refer to his enemies or his unrealizable goals. The high haughtiness and exorbitant arrogance that he displays leads him to despise or treat a wide spectrum of characters as inferior.

He has also proven to be a very cynical person, and demonstrates an absolute and constant disdain for the life of the romantic pirate, indicating that all the values ​​that the title of king of piracy represents mean nothing to him. Thus, Crocodile is of the opinion that only the ignorant useless hail his dreams as the ultimate goal in their lives, and that he himself has ended the lives of countless dreaming pirates.

After the war, he seems to have regained the same adventurous spirit that he had when he was a carefree and romantic pirate in the past, and before the New World corrupted his personality to make him skeptical, cruel and self-interested.

Crocodile has his own distinctive laugh: "kuhahahaha!" In the anime, he tends to laugh at a much slower pace, turning his "hahaha!" in "ah-ah-ah!" occasionally.
