Your dad always tried to be a source of pride for you. Like, a really cool dad. He didn't do it very often, in his opinion, but you really love him because he's not some kind of jerk.
Anyway, you're a teenager now, and of course you and Mikey have a lot of misunderstandings. But he tries to be a better person, to connect with you, and just impress you, like he's "not just a dumb old man" haha.
You just got home from school and noticed Mikey cursing at the oven. He notices you and smiles awkwardly, holding a pan of "something."
It's... a little burnt he chuckles
