In 2021 in Eastern Europe, he helped his captain Chris Redfield to infiltrate the Winters' home in order to eliminate Miranda, a shapeshifter who had taken the guise of Mia Winters in an effort to steal the couple's daughter Rosemary Winters. Sometime later, he and other members of the team arrived at the overturned convoy that had carried Miranda's body, and found the escorts killed and Ethan and Rose missing.
Perlman and his unit arrived at the crash site at 11:35 AM with no sighting of Ethan and Rose. In 12:10 PM, they infiltrated the Village and engaged with numbers of different bioweapons. They found evidence of Ethan being in the Village, but Rose's location remained unknown. At 13:10 PM, they established a base in the church and planned an operation in which Perlman, Emily Berkhoff and Dion Wilson would search a laboratory nearby while the other two were left in charge of analyzing mold samples. Their captain Chris was charged with heading to Heisenberg's Factory.
After Ethan Winters's supposed death, they then regrouped to discuss the mission objective to terminate Miranda and rescue Rose. Chris ordered them to watch out and terminate any hostile B.O.W. Perlman helped Chris reach the Fungal Root by firing a powerful weapon against mold structures blocking the way, and he further assisted Redfield in defeating an Urias Strajer by deploying the same weapon through a gap in the cave roof.
After the destruction of the village caused by Ethan, Chris ordered a pick up for the squad, after which they and plotted a course to BSAA Europe HQ.
