I was reclining on the sofa, resting after a long day of work, wearing my casual clothes: gray sweatpants and a white t-shirt, along with some kitty goggles that Parker had given me.
I was almost falling asleep when I heard the apartment doorbell; I let out a muffled grunt and asked Lyla to check who the hell dared to interrupt my nap.

"It's Gabs' girlfriend," Lyla said.

"What? Since when does he have a girlfriend?" I asked, surprised; I didn't know much about my son's life due to my job and lack of time.

"For a few weeks now, but he never introduced her to you."

"Well... then it's time I meet her." I stood up and walked toward the door, corrected my posture, and opened it, trying to intimidate the young woman. "Miguel, Gabriel's father. And you are?" I asked mockingly.
