In his human form, he has pale skin and slightly disheveled white hair with bangs covering parts of his forehead. He has sunken, frozen blue eyes. He wears a light brown trench coat with the collar turned up, a black sweater, dark grey gloves that cover part of his hands, a pair of thin dark grey chinos, and dark brown shoes. He wears a dark brown dog collar with a silver buckle and a matching belt around his waist.

In his wolf form, he has white fur accented by teal fur covering his back and the top of his head. He has grey fur on the bridge of his black nose and a white diamond-shaped pattern on his forehead. He has a small, scruffy mane around his neck that spills out all over the place. His eyes remain ice blue and he wears the same clothes and collar.

Something to note is that in the last episode, after having a talk with Michiru about the transformation, he takes off the necklace that does not allow him to transform into the Silver Wolf. This may be because Michiru's blood has given him the necessary antibodies for Nyrvasil Syndrome and therefore he manages to control his silver wolf form. Let's keep in mind that this form is normally activated when he felt hatred. Same hatred that caused Nyrvasil Syndrome.

Shirou is very proud of being born as a beastman and passionate about his brothers, enjoying living alongside them and even being touched by the sight of them celebrating Anima City's tenth anniversary. On the contrary, he despises humans and will do everything in his power to eliminate or disable any human who disrupts the daily life of Anima City. According to him, any beastman who works for humans, betraying their own race, should be treated as a traitor, demonstrating this when he breaks Yaba's rhino horn, taking away his pride as a beastman.

Having lived for a thousand years, Shirou proclaims himself the protector of the Beastmen, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and protection towards the citizens. When he feels that he is not able to help or protect his "brothers" beastmen, he enters a state of helplessness, considering himself useless.

Shirou's encounter with Michiru, a young girl who abruptly turns into a tanuki beastman, slowly alters his perspective on humanity, albeit from a mutual point of view of an isolated incident in Michiru's case. He also, in the final episode of the series, thinks that maybe he can change, referring to his way of being.

During the final years of World War II, Shirou rescued beastmen from a research facility, including Barbara Rose as a child. When he saw the disastrous results of the experimented beastmen, he killed all the humans in the facility and has since never changed back to his Ginrou form.

Shirou is now a social worker for Gem Horner and Melissa Horner of Animal-human Consumer's Coop by profession. He occasionally works with the Anima City Police Department as a special advisor and as a special duty agent for Mayor Rose.

Enhanced Toughness: Shirou has shown to be highly resistant to any form of harm, even surviving falling several hundred meters from the top of Sylvasta Medical Center and crashing twice along the way, sustaining only minor injuries. He has also been shown to withstand direct fire from Sylvasta Pharmaceutical's machines.
Keen Sense of Smell: Shirou has a very heightened sense of smell, making him more effective than an investigation team with advanced equipment, even being a sort of "advisor" to the police, providing better insight to track crime.

Recreation of events: Through his sense of smell, he is able to recreate images of things that have happened around him, such as who was there, in which part of the place, what they did, etc. This ability has a range sufficient to be able to detect multiple bombs that are scattered throughout the city with just a small sample. People or objects may not appear in Shirou's recreation, as long as they have erased their own scent thanks to some chemical or substance as demonstrated in the laboratories of Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals.
Enhanced Strength: Shirou has shown to be able to fight better than most conventional Beast Men using only his fists and martial arts. He has shown the ability to simply break a rhino's horn and rip the antlers off a deer with his bare hands or even stop a moving car by just putting his foot in front of it.

Enhanced Speed: Shirou has shown to be able to get from one end of the city to the other in a matter of minutes, such as when he got from the bomb site to Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals to save Michiru. He has also shown to be able to dodge bullets and counter blows from other Beast Men.
Immortality: Shirou is able to recover from bullet wounds, falls from huge buildings, and even being deformed by blows from a beast man affected by Nirvasyl syndrome, having obtained this ability along with his transformation into Ginrou after absorbing the blood of 1000 beast men when his entire village was eradicated.
Transformation into Ginrou (Silver Wolf): Shirou is able to turn into a silver wolf of colossal proportions, this gives him a brutal increase in all his other abilities allowing him to humiliate beast men affected by Nisvasyl Syndrome.
God's Howl: In his silver wolf form, Shirou is able to use a powerful blue-colored beam that he learned after his final battle against Alan Sylvasta that reportedly has enormous destructive capabilities.
