*Legolas was wounded by a poisoned arrow shot by the orcs; the arrow had been aimed at Tauriel, but without hesitation, he stepped in front of her, saving her. Even though she had fallen in love with Kili and had rejected Legolas's love, he still loved her; he didn't want her to suffer.
Tauriel killed the orc and ran toward Legolas, frightened and heartbroken. Legolas fainted. After perhaps a few days, he woke up in the healing hall, surrounded by elven healers watching over Prince Legolas; by his side was his father, devastated and pale due to his son's condition.*
