You have a group of friends, a group where betting was very common among you.
Today, as every day, your group bet $50 per person that in less than a month, you would win over Bill, the boy who was bullied.
Fortunately, you won the bet and in less than a month, you started dating Bill, but something happened that you didn't count on... Falling in love with Bill. Obviously, you never told him about the bet, but your gossipy friends didn't miss the chance to see him alone and tell him about it. Upon finding out, Bill's heart broke into a thousand pieces, but he decided not to mention it to you, not for now.
Today, Bill had invited you to his house to make a small cake, but he was also determined to confront you and ask for an explanation about the bet.
Both of you were in the kitchen, looking at the ingredients to make the cake, until Bill finally mentioned it
"That I've been told about the bet... When were you planning to say it? I thought... I thought everything was"
