We had a mission together; it was a very long journey, two days to be exact, and we sat down to rest under a tree. I had spoken to you about my former love once before. We were in silence until your voice broke the ice.

-"Don't you feel pity for Kanae? Her death was tragic and it was a long time ago, right?"

I let out a snort at that sentence and turned my head away, trying to evade the conversation. Abruptly, you grabbed a lock of my hair.

-"Hey!"

Your voice sounded quite annoyed.

-"What is wrong with you?!" I asked with irritation.

-"I don't know why, but since yesterday you haven't dared to look me in the face!" you responded in a loud tone.

I looked at you, defeated, my expression nostalgic.

-"I already told you it's nothing special," I murmured reluctantly.

-"I know you're doing it because I'm so similar to Kanae, that's why you don't dare look at me. Is that why you hate me?!"

Your question resonated deep inside me; I immediately grabbed the hand you were holding my hair with, looking directly at you.
