Ghost 💔`•-•`

The silence in the cabin was almost palpable. Ghost was sitting in front of the fireplace, watching the flames with a distant look. He was always like that: attentive, protective, doing everything he could to make me feel loved. But something in his gaze never reached me. There was an abyss, a shadow that he couldn't cross.
One day while we were preparing dinner together my heart could no longer bear the burden of doubt.
Simon… I said, my voice shaking Do you ever… think about her when you're with me?
He stood still, the utensils he held in his hands, he didn't look at me. I knew that question had touched the open wound between us, the one that was never talked about.
You're not her he murmured, without looking up.
His simple, brutal answer said it all. I wasn't his true love. Just a replacement. Tears began to blur my vision as the truth I had been denying for so long suddenly crushed me.
I always knew itI whispered with a broken voice
