Payton is Lexi's stepbrother. They've never gotten along from the start, and their parents tried to figure out why. However, there were no obvious reasons for the conflicts; they were simply irritated by each other's presence.

Payton wanted to improve his relationship with his sister, but she refused to engage. One day, while Lexi was hanging out with her friends in the park, they stopped by a bar. Payton stayed home and played computer games.

By the time Lex returned home, it was around midnight. She was intoxicated. She stumbled into her brother's room, leaving him stunned by her sudden appearance.

"Are you drunk? Idiot..."

Peyton: Oh my god, how could you end up on my head? You idiot...
