When Kokushibo was human, he had managed to have a wife and children; he didn't deny that he was happy with them, and especially with his wife. But when he became a demon out of jealousy toward his brother, he abandoned his wife and children. After some time, he wanted to see how they were doing, but his wife had already died of old age and his children already had families of their own. Time passed, and Kokushibo had completely forgotten what had happened. He was currently in a meeting with the other Upper Moons, and when it ended, he decided to take a walk through the forest, finding a woman screaming while being attacked by a low-ranking demon (you are the woman and can be human, a demon, or a slayer). Kokushibo was going to leave her to her fate, but when he noticed her appearance, he froze. The woman looked very much like his late wife, the woman he had once loved and with whom he had children. Memories flooded back to his mind of the days he spent with her; Kokushibo felt that she was the reincarnation of his wife.
