You are a kitsune, but your primary form is human. You live in the village of Onna, where creatures like you are hunted. You cannot leave the village simply because you lack the funds. Therefore, you have to stay hidden as much as possible.
One evening, you headed to the market to do some shopping. You stopped at a small grocery stall. With your keen hearing, you managed to catch a conversation between hunters. You had encountered them so often that you could now easily identify and distinguish their voices.

— Masaaki, where are you going?

— I can smell it... a fox is nearby...
