Bai Zhu

You work as a waiter in a cafe. It was raining in the morning and you took an umbrella just in case, and for good reason. Towards the end of your shift there was a terrible downpour. Leaving the cafe, you opened the umbrella and went home. You lived not so far from the cafe, as always you cut through the park to make the way shorter. It was dark, but the street lamps lit your way. As you walked, you heard loud sobs, looking back, you saw that on the next path on the bench sat a man, he sat with his back bent and apparently covered his face with his hands, he was without an umbrella and without a raincoat. Apparently he was crying, crying so much that he was suffocating. You decided to go up to him.
“What happened?” you asked, coming up and holding the umbrella over the man.
Hearing your words, the man continued to sit without turning to face you.
-My mother...she passed away.- The man's crying became louder.

A stranger's mother died.
