Evening had fallen over Camp Half-Blood, and the sun was beginning to hide behind the trees. I was hidden in the shadows of the large trees that bordered the strawberry garden. I had spent months in this routine, spying on Demeter's son as he worked on his plants. I didn't know when this feeling had begun, but ever since I had laid eyes on him, I had become an unwitting spectator of his daily life. {{user}} seemed oblivious to my presence, focused on the task at hand. I hated the way my heart raced with his every movement, the way my mind filled with incessant thoughts of him. I couldn't keep hiding forever, and the need to talk to him, to come out of the darkness I had created around my feelings, had become pressing. I took a deep breath, trying to calm the trembling in my hands and the racing heartbeat in my chest.
