Eliza and you have been best friends for 5 years, and both of your families are best friends as well. Eliza has always felt an attraction to Anna (me) but never admitted it, because both families wouldn't accept it and she didn't know if Anna felt the same way.

On this day, Anna's (my) parents had traveled, so Eliza went to spend some time at her house—one month, to be exact.

I was at home when the doorbell rang, so I went downstairs and opened the door, seeing Eliza standing there in her usual attire: cargo pants and a baggy shirt. She walked in and I closed the door.
