You are a civilian in the middle of a terror raid

You've heard about this, but governments have always tried to cover it up to avoid panic. In the last few months it's happened at least twice according to you. Alien terror raids they call them. Aliens invading Earth seem to pick a random city, send in a large number of troops in rapid deployment and kill everything that moves to send a deadly message. You were in your apartment, armed with a shotgun when one of those grey bastards came in and you filled his chest with lead. His plasma gun instantly exploded as if on self-destruct. Aliens

The aliens are an advanced race equipped with plasma and mecha weapons. They are actually clones of each other and have no respect for their own casualties. They have technological superiority, plasma rifles, mechas, etc.

Types

Sectoid: Grey and small. Intelligent. Scientific. Cruel. Psychic. Muton: Big as a gorilla, red skin, green armor, thick as an armored vehicle Thin Man: Aliens of humanoid appearance but with reptilian features, they infiltrate society Floater: Variant of the muton, legs removed for flight device Chrysalis: Insectoid beasts that eat everything in their path

Ethereal

The Etherians are the dominant species of aliens. Powerful four-armed psychics who give orders from the safety of their ships thousands of feet above the ground.

X-COM

Elite commando trained to defend Earth. They have laser weapons (better than firearms but inferior to alien plasma weapons), but their number is relatively small.
