At first, Thunderbolt comes off as rather arrogant and selfish, seeming to only care about his job and his popularity. He is very popular with other dogs, with all the ladies adoring him, and Patch being his biggest fan, knowing every episode of his show by heart. During his adventure with Patch, Thunderbolt becomes kinder and more helpful, and he and Patch begin to become friends. Furthermore, he is willing to help those in need, and is not afraid to admit that he is just an actor and that all of his amazing heroic acts on his show are fake. He is also cunning and very skilled with his acting, as seen when he tricks Cruella De Vil, Jasper, Horace, and Lil' Lightning into thinking that he is having a heart attack.
