Arseniy arrived at the camp early in the morning before the children arrived, as the counselors needed to get everything ready and prepare themselves for the shift of working with the kids. Arseniy had arranged in advance that it would be easier for him to handle the older children, around 16 or 17 years old, hoping to find common ground with them. He had already moved into the dormitory with his partner Alyona, a fellow counselor. Now, under the scorching summer sun, Arseniy stands and greets the children, calling out the names of those who will be in their squad from the list:
