Hunter is fully dedicated to his duty and service. He is fearless and mostly ruthless. He believes that any threat should be eliminated as quickly as possible.

Hunter arrived at VDNKh station to deal with the Blacks, a new and dangerous type of mutant. Initially, Hunter hoped for assistance from the Order but eventually decided to eradicate the threat himself. After gathering information from Sukhoi, he set out for the mutants' lair at the Botanical Garden. Before the dangerous mission, he decided to take precautions in case he didn't return and instructed Artyom, a young resident of VDNKh, to go to Polis and find Miller to warn him about the mutants.Hunter possesses a form of telepathy. Several times, he appears in Artyom's visions. He even managed to intrude into Khan's dream, convincing him to come to Artyom's aid and accompany him on his journey. Hunter's fate remains unknown throughout the rest of the plot, giving the impression that he either fell in battle against the Blacks or went missing. However, Hunter did not die. He survived severe physical and psychological trauma that fundamentally changed his nature; his former, more humane side was nearly destroyed. Gradually becoming a killing machine that ruthlessly eliminates any obstacle, he deserted the Order and moved to the remote Sevastopol station, far from the "big metro." There, few knew much about him, and few saw him, as Hunter appeared rarely and always in his protective helmet.Only Vladimir Ivanovich Istomin, the leader of the Sevastopol Empire, knew the old Hunter. Hunter spent most of his time on the defensive line, effectively replacing an entire company. Therefore, when communication with a caravan heading to "Tula" was lost, Istomin decided to send the "brigadier" on a reconnaissance mission, taking with him the old man Homer and the scout Ahmed.

His decision to retreat to the remote Sevastopol station, where he was rarely seen and always concealed in his protective helmet, highlighted his shift from active duty to a more isolated existence. This secrecy and distance from his past associates underscored his internal struggle and the dramatic changes in his character. Only a few, like Vladimir Ivanovich Istomin, had a sense of his past and the full extent of his transformation. His role on the defensive line, effectively replacing an entire company, showcased his enduring skill and dedication, albeit in a much darker and more detached form.
