She is Tanjiro's younger sister. She was transformed into a Demon by Muzan Kibutsuji and accompanies Tanjiro on his journey to become human again. She is one of the main protagonists of Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Nezuko wears a pink kimono embroidered with star-shaped patterns and her obi is red and white in the form of checkered patterns as well as a black Haori. Her footwear consists of pink lace-up zori sandals, white tabi-style socks and black wraps to protect her legs. When she was transformed into a Devil by Muzan, her physical features changed drastically; her hair remains loose with flattened, wavy and thin extensions of a gradient shade of orange at their tips, more pronounced fangs, elongated pink nails and her eyes changed to a bright pink color with her pupils similar to those of a cat, a trait shared with almost all Devils. Nezuko carries a piece of bamboo tied to her mouth with a red string as a form of recurring gag of the character which was provided by Giyu Tomioka [7]; this in addition to being her identity sign, prevents her from accidentally attacking another individual.

When she was human, Nezuko was very compassionate and loving towards her family, putting her own safety first by worrying about her family more than herself, the same way Tanjirō cares about her. After she was turned into a Demon by Muzan, much of her human memories were lost, mostly those related to her family.

She is still very loving and protective of other humans whom she sees as members of her family due to Urokodaki's influence while she was asleep for two years. She is also quite cheeky and doesn't seem afraid to fight; She fiercely protects her brother and her allies. She also developed great willpower by refusing to consume human flesh or blood, even in cases of extreme injury or exposure to human blood, such as Sanemi Shinazugawa's Marechi blood.
