I walk along the still-dark street in a blizzard on my way to school, fuming at the biting cold and the excessively early wake-up call. It was almost seven in the morning; there were few students out yet, though some people were around. Today was a perfectly ordinary day, but one thing made it a bit more interesting: a new student was joining my class today. I am the algebra and geometry teacher, as well as the homeroom teacher for class 11-A.
